Kids Need Love… And a Bunk Bed

Posted under bedroom furniture, kids beds

Do your kids still sleep in your bedroom? If you are encountering problems persuading your children to doze in another room, perhaps it is time to determine the factors that make your kids want to hole up with you. Of course, there are also children who nag their parents to give them their own room. Whatever situation you are in right now, it is suggested that you brush up on the conditions that will make your kids desire owning a room and staying there. The bunk bed may be a good choice here, but lets think further.

Speaking of space, you may want to use it as a guideline when acquiring furniture for your children's new room. Start with the bed since it is the bulkiest of bedroom furniture. It is suggested you get a bunk bed because it occupies the least space but accommodates the most people.

Of the myriad types of children's bunk beds, the basic bunk bed is the most common. It is simply two beds, one mounted over the other. The bed at the bottom can either be a full size bed or the same size as the one on top. The basic bunk bed, one of eight identifiable classes of bunk beds that come in various colors and materials, is perfect for rooms that have limited space.

Another type of bunk bed is the futon, which is a Japanese term that refers to traditional Japanese bedding. Kids bunk beds in this class are composed of a full bed lofted over a foldable mattress, which serves two purposes, either as a couch or a sleeping surface. The futon bunk bed is great for children's bedrooms that require additional floor space for activities during daytime.

If floor space isn't an issue, perhaps you'll find the L-shaped or triple kids bunk beds a better fit. Although the triple bunk bed can obviously accommodate three children, it is also designed in the shape of the letter L with the halves of the beds facing away from each other in a ninety degree angle. Despite taking up more space than your basic children beds, it more than makes up for it by providing a small area under the top half for activities like reading or studying.

The space under the lower mattress of kids bunk beds can also be used to house a supplementary bed. This type of configuration is called trundle beds. The augmentation to a basic bunk bed is the perfect alternative to purchasing the space-consuming L-shaped bunk beds, and serves another purpose""that of a storage area. Just remove the cushion and you have an instant drawer.

Are you ready to buy those children beds you have been eying for your kids' bedroom? If you are like every other parent, you'll probably consider one of two space-saving options: versatile kids bunk beds or classic trundle beds. Whichever you choose, remind yourself of the reasons behind it: Because it is within your means, it is what your children need, and you have the room to spare.
