Kids Bunk Beds: The Choice Bed for Growing Families
Posted under bedroom furniture, kids bedsDo your kids still sleep in your bedroom? If you are encountering problems persuading your children to doze in another room, perhaps it is time to determine the factors that make your kids want to hole up with you. Of course, there are also children who nag their parents to give them their own room. Whatever situation you are in right now, it is suggested that you brush up on the conditions that will make your kids desire owning a room and staying there. Could it be that they want a bunk bed?

A GREAT Bunk Bed!
As the primary occupants of the new bedroom, your children should be involved in choosing the furniture. It is recommended to first determine what type of bed to buy since it will become the room's centerpiece. The stress is on selecting a bed that can fit in the limited amount of space and accommodate all your children. The ever-reliable bunk bed is the obvious choice.
Kids bunk beds come in different shapes and sizes, and it is recommended you explore each one to give you a better idea of which type to purchase. There are about eight kinds of bunk beds, each with its own charm and function. The first type is the basic bunk bed, which is actually two twin size beds, one on top of the other. The bunk bed can be dismantled and used as separate beds should the need arises. The basic bunk bed is just the right size for a small bedroom with two occupants.
If the basic bunk bed does not suit your preference, you may find the futon bunk bed more to your liking. Futon, which basically means cushion in Japanese, forms the bottom half of this kind of kids bunk beds, and is foldable, changing its function from a bed to a sofa. The other half is a complete mattress. If you are concerned with the amount of space in the room, the futon is a better choice than the basic bunk bed.
If floor space isn't an issue, perhaps you'll find the L-shaped or triple kids bunk beds a better fit. Although the triple bunk bed can obviously accommodate three children, it is also designed in the shape of the letter L with the halves of the beds facing away from each other in a ninety degree angle. Despite taking up more space than your basic children beds, it more than makes up for it by providing a small area under the top half for activities like reading or studying.
Most full bunk beds have a collective attribute of allowing the conversion of bottom bunks into trundle beds. This is a great option for families who want an L-shaped or triple bunk but do not have the space for it. Should you find no use for an additional sleeping surface, the lower bed can be used as a storage drawer.
There are three things you have to remember when selecting from a wide range of kids bunk beds: Your budget, your needs, and the amount of space you can fill. Fortunately for those stumped with the third consideration, this category of children beds provides the alternative of converting one of the bunks into trundle beds.
