The Resistance of Modern Vanities
Posted under bathroomDo you like modern vanities? Given the choice, would you rather keep your older vanities or have them repaired, instead of buying these new vanities, with their simplified designs? It seems that not everyone enjoys the way these vanities look, especially if they live in traditional houses. To some of them, it may be a matter of style, while for others, it’s the sense of familiarity they have with older looking things.
In cases like these, you may opt to buy traditionally styled modern vanities instead. Vanities are still being manufactured in traditional designs or patterned after them. But these have had to be upgraded to accommodate modern sensibilities and building materials. If all you want to do is to keep the look of traditional vanities, you won’t see the difference.
However, these older style vanities are also significantly pricier. For most people, these vanities may be too expensive, or are not reasonably priced. Modern vanities are created to be cost-effective, and are comparatively easier to install, use and maintain. As a result, some people can not get around buying new vanities, irregardless of what their preferences are.
In situations like this, they still are not satisfied with having a contemporary vanity. These vanities might fit in with the bathroom and home they live in, but they may not think that these vanities are attractive. Some of them may just be unwilling to accept change. However, their concerns should not be taken for granted.
If you would rather not get a contemporary vanity, that’s OK. But remember that you would be missing out on better designed vanities. These vanities are more eco-friendly, and more resistant to fire, termites, flooding and other hazards. Overall, they are created to last longer, so in that sense, they are superior to older vanities.
You can certainly find contemporary bathroom cabinets that will fit in a traditional bathroom. It just takes a lot of patience and some imagination. You will want cabinets in colors and designs that replicate the look of wood or stone, even if they are not actually made of them. When considering a cabinet, imagine it is already installed in your bathroom. Then you can decide if you like how it looks in there, and if it will work with the rest of the house.
